Can I bring my children to Rome?Updated 6 months ago

Traveling with children requires careful planning and finesse, and at The Tour Guy, we want to ensure that your family's experience in Rome is both enjoyable and tailored to fit the needs of your entire family.  Here are some of our essential tips for a family-friendly adventure in the Eternal City:

1. Family-Friendly Tours:

Explore our specially curated family-friendly tours designed to engage and entertain children.

Look for tours with interactive activities and guides skilled in captivating young minds.

2. Comfortable Clothing and Footwear:

Ensure your children are dressed comfortably for the day's activities, considering the weather. Comfortable footwear is essential for exploring Rome's cobbled streets and historic sites.

3. Snack and Hydration:

Pack snacks and a reusable water bottle to keep your little ones energized throughout the day. Rome can be warm, so staying hydrated is key, especially for active youngsters. Some museums have bag restrictions, so make sure you check your voucher for more detailed information if you have questions regarding this.

4. Stroller-Friendly Routes:

If traveling with young children, you may be considering bringing a stroller or carrier to move with ease throughout your tours. Please keep in mind some of the museums are ancient structures, meaning that there will be uneven terrain and lots of steps. This may make it difficult to lug around a heavy stroller. We recommend small, compact umbrella strollers or a simple carrier.

If you are on a small group tour, the guide will not be able to make special accommodations or requests and will need to keep the pace for the entire group. If you do plan on using a stroller, please let us know at the time of the booking so that we can make sure your tour runs flawlessly. If you’d prefer a more personalized tour where you can set the pace and take routes designed for the use of strollers, we highly recommend booking one of our awesome Private Tours! You can find those here.

5. Safety First:

Emphasize the importance of safety with your children, especially in crowded areas, and ensure that your family knows a designated meeting point in case anyone gets separated.

Lastly, I would highly recommend reading our Blog Article, How to See Rome with Kids. This article details all of the must-see attractions and specific tours to make it happen!
